How can I help you?

There are many different issues that bring people to therapy. Sometimes seeking mental health support is the hardest first step. Reach out in whatever way feels easiest to get things started.

Therapy Services

You may benefit from different types of mental health support depending on your needs.

Reach out if you have questions about what might work best for your situation.

Individual Therapy

Most of the work I do is focused on individual counseling sessions with people of varying ages, identities, and life stages. This means I will meet with you individually to find ways to make positive changes in your life.

For adults and some teens, this can be done both in-person and over telehealth. For children, this is best done in-person in a play therapy room.

Family Therapy

Often when working with children and teens there is a point where parents need to be more directly involved in the therapy work we are doing. If it seems appropriate I am happy to be involved in those family sessions, however, sometimes it is best to refer you to a separate family therapist to preserve the individual therapy relationship I have developed. We will discuss together what will be most supportive and I will help you find those outside supports if needed.

Children

Children do best when we work with their developmental age and needs. I work with children ages 3 and up using play therapy to address their needs since it is their natural language.

Children often use play to work through things they are trying to figure out. Sometimes therapy is needed to help facilitate and support that process. I work with children from a child-lead, attachment-focused way so they can feel confident and safe while learning to regulate big emotions and solve problems.

Every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and heard. Play therapy provides a warm, playful environment for a child to build their relationship with the therapist so they can work on the things they need to work on.

Adolescents

Teens need a space to work through things, and often benefit from a combination of verbal communication and creative expression to work through things.

Teenagers are going through a complex stage of development and are often experiencing lot’s of complicated changes in their internal and external world. Therapy for them needs to be flexible and creative to meet their different needs that often change from moment to moment.

Sometimes work with teens can be done in individual therapy, and sometimes therapy for teens has to involve family therapy with parents and/or siblings. Whatever the need is, we will work together to figure out which direction therapy needs to go.

Adults

Adults were kids once too so you may benefit from talk therapy, something more creative in expression, or maybe a combination of both.

I work with adults in a client-centered, strengths-focused way. Seeking support can be intimidating so I am here to act as a guide. You know yourself better than anyone, so we will work together to figure out what you need and where you want to be. This can be challenging at times, but those challenges won’t last forever and I will be with you ever step of that journey.

I believe that each person already has what they need within them, so we will work together to find that. This is true for adults and children, and I feel confident that you can find the peace and support you need.

Parenting

Parenting is tough and you are learning as much as your kids are. I may work with you as much as your child to make sure you have the supports you need too.

Parents have a difficult job and often don’t have enough supports in their life. Whether I am just working with you or whether I am your child’s therapist, my goal is to make sure you feel confident and capable in your job as a parent. You know your child better than anyone so we will work together to figure out what will provide the most support to you and your entire family.

And most of all, I find that parents often need to know you are doing much better than you probably think you are! I am here to make sure you know that and make small adjustments where it is helpful and aligns with your beliefs and values.
